BioGrad Limited: Advancing Health Through Science and Innovation
Who We Are
BioGrad Limited is a healthcare and life sciences organization dedicated to providing innovative, affordable medical and diagnostic solutions. Our mission is rooted in supporting scientific discovery through research and connecting donors, clinics, and the scientific community to drive progress. Based in Liverpool, UK, our offerings include BioGrad Diagnostics, BioGrad Prenatal, and BioGrad Biobank, with a special focus on advancing women’s health, supporting alternative therapies, and making healthcare accessible.
What We Do
At BioGrad, we facilitate vital research through BioGrad’s Research Tissue Bank (RTB), a privately funded human sample repository. We connect the scientific community with high-quality human samples, empowering research across fields such as cellular therapies, women’s health, and related health conditions. Through ethically approved protocols, we make these resources available to support advancements in:
- Cellular Therapies: Focusing on treatments that harness the body’s resources to manage or prevent diseases, including conditions like arthritis, neurodegenerative disorders, spinal injuries, and infectious diseases.
- Women’s Health: Supporting critical research in women’s health, addressing unique health concerns and gender-influenced conditions to improve outcomes and drive progress in a historically underfunded area.
How We Do It
Ethical and Secure Biobanking: BioGrad’s RTB operates under NHS ethical approval (REC number 24/WA/0102) and follows stringent guidelines to ensure that all human samples are used in ethically responsible ways. Samples are securely stored at BioGrad or other licensed biobanking institutions, protected by state-of-the-art electronic systems. Each sample is de-identified with a unique code to safeguard donor confidentiality.
Sample Usage: Donated samples, with informed consent, contribute to research in diagnostics, quality control, and product development but are never used for prohibited purposes, such as human treatment or reproductive cloning. Additionally:
- Consumer Product Testing: Samples may be used in product testing to minimize reliance on animal testing.
- Genetic Testing: Genetic analysis may be conducted to improve disease understanding and ensure sample integrity.
- Animal Research: Donors may choose to allow or restrict sample use in animal-related studies.
Feedback and Confidentiality: While direct project updates may not be available, BioGrad strives to keep donors informed about research progress. Significant health findings, if identified, are shared with donors, subject to consent.
